GameStop is one of the few big stores still taking Pokémon TCG pre-orders for Mega Evolution—Delta Reign (Nov 6, 2026). The catch is price: GameStop's tags sit far above the distributor list prices other stores use. Here's exactly what GameStop's own pages said when we read them on Oct 18, 2026, what its Pro membership really saves, and how to cancel if you change your mind.

Distributor list prices come from Printed Price (citing PHD Games) and The Lab TCG; Pokémon does not publish US MSRPs. The "reported" rows are a secondary report of in-store tags, not prices we read on GameStop.com.

The per-pack math

  • ETB: $89.99 ÷ 9 packs = about $10.00 a pack ($9.50 with Pro). At list, $49.99 ÷ 9 = about $5.55 a pack.
  • Booster Box: $299.99 ÷ 36 = about $8.33 a pack ($7.92 with Pro). At list, $161.64 ÷ 36 = about $4.49 a pack.
  • For context, TCGplayer's market price for the Delta Reign ETB was $118.88 on Oct 16 (The Lab TCG), so GameStop's sticker is still below the resale market, just far above list.

How a GameStop pre-order works (GameStop's own wording)

  • Limit: the Delta Reign ETB and Booster Box pages both say "only [one] unit of this item may be purchased per account."
  • When you pay: the ETB page says "Billing does not occur until order is processed."
  • Cancelling (signed in): GameStop's help article "How Do I Cancel an Online Pre-Order?" (updated Apr 23, 2026) says orders placed while logged in can be cancelled in your account, but only while the order "hasn't entered final processing."
  • Cancelling (guest): guest pre-orders need help; GameStop says to email [email protected].
  • Too close to release: if the order is already processing or preparing to ship, GameStop says it "can't be cancelled, even by Customer Service." Your only option then is to return it if it meets the return policy.

Tip: always pre-order while signed in. It's the only way to cancel yourself without emailing support.

Is GameStop Pro worth it for Pokémon?

GameStop's help article (updated Oct 13, 2026) and its Pro Terms list the membership at $29.99 a year. (Its older FAQ and auto-renew terms pages still say $25, so check the price at checkout.) The Pro benefits that matter for cards, per GameStop's Terms:

  • 5% extra off collectibles and trading cards. That's the $85.49 ETB and $284.99 box prices above.
  • A $5 monthly reward coupon for one eligible item, but GameStop says it can't be used on reservations and can't stack with other promotions.
  • Free shipping on $54+ orders, but trading cards and pre-orders are excluded from that benefit.

The math: Pro saves $4.50 on one ETB and $15 on one Booster Box. With a one-per-account limit, the 5% discount alone only covers a $29.99 fee after about $600 of qualifying purchases in a year. Pro makes sense if you already shop at GameStop a lot; it's not a shortcut to cheaper Pokémon.

Why GameStop prices are so high

This isn't new. In Feb 2025, PokéBeach reported an internal GameStop email ending Pokémon TCG pre-orders at the time and shipping all Pokémon product directly to stores. A store manager quoted in that report said GameStop had limited Pokémon products to two per customer (five for single packs) and was charging above MSRP, speculating it was buying stock "from other sources beyond Pokemon itself." By October 2026 GameStop was taking pre-orders again (SetPulls read its Delta Reign listing on Oct 16), still at prices well over list.

Where GameStop fits in your plan

On Oct 16, 2026, SetPulls found Best Buy listing the Delta Reign ETB at $49.99 (Coming Soon, with an updated reservation process) and Target at $59.99 (out of stock, limit 1). Its advice: pay GameStop's sticker "only if the alternative is the resale market." We agree. A sensible order:

  1. Your local game store (prereleases start Oct 24; ask how it will allocate launch stock). See our Delta Reign where-to-buy guide.
  2. Best Buy's invite / reservation in release week, at list price.
  3. Pokémon Center's queue if Delta Reign ever comes back.
  4. Walmart drawings or Amazon invites, only when the price is near list.
  5. GameStop, if you'd otherwise pay resale.

Legit tips

  • Use one GameStop account. The one-per-account limit is GameStop's rule, and opening extra accounts to get around it isn't fair to other collectors.
  • Pre-order signed in, so you can cancel yourself before processing.
  • Check the final total with tax before you confirm, and compare it with the list prices in our Delta Reign price check.
  • Don't buy Pro just for one box. Do the math above first.
