Editorial & Sourcing Policy

How we verify drops, label what we know, fix mistakes and keep money away from the facts.

How we verify a drop

  1. Primary sources first. Publisher and retailer pages: pokemon.com and press.pokemon.com, Bandai's One Piece site, Topps.com, Nike's launch pages, and each retailer's own product pages and help center.
  2. Then established trackers and trade press. For example Restockd, NowInStock, PokéBeach, ICv2, Polygon and Printed Price. We name the outlet and never present their claims as the retailer's own announcement.
  3. Every fact gets a source and a date. Each guide and the calendar end with a Sources list that shows where we read each fact and when, in Eastern Time.
  4. Prices are labeled. MSRP or list price is kept separate from observed retailer or resale prices, and we say which is which.

What our labels mean

Confirmed

Stated by the publisher or retailer on its own page, listing or press release.

Expected

A likely window based on a schedule or pattern that trackers report (for example "Target restocks usually land Friday 3 to 6 AM ET"). Not announced.

Reported

Posted by a tracker, news outlet or community source, but not yet visible on the retailer's or publisher's own page.

Past

The date has passed. We keep a short recap of what happened and remove the row later.

When a date isn't solid, we say so. Our sister site DropDayHQ marks those rows TBA.

Updates and dates

Every guide and the drop calendar show a visible "Last updated" date. The calendar's "This week" rows are re-checked daily. Times are Eastern Time unless a retailer states another zone, in which case we show both.

Corrections policy

If we get something wrong, we fix it on the page and add a dated correction note that says what changed, for example our Oct 19, 2026 correction of the Deck Crafter's Collection price on the drop calendar. Small wording fixes that don't change a fact are made without a note. To report an error, email [email protected] with the page and what you found.

Ads, affiliate links and independence

  • Ads: HotDropStock uses Google AdSense for display advertising. Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads, as described in our Privacy Policy. Ads are kept separate from editorial content, and advertisers don't see or approve our coverage.
  • No affiliate links yet: we have not joined any affiliate program, so retailer links are ordinary links and earn us nothing. If that changes, affiliate links will be disclosed on the page and on our Ad & Affiliate Disclosure.
  • No paid placement: no retailer, brand or alert service pays to be included, ranked or reviewed.

Legit methods only

We don't publish or endorse bots, checkout automation, multiple fake accounts or ways around retailer limits. When a service advertises those, we call it out as a red flag.

Tools we use

We use software, including AI tools, to monitor sources and draft updates. Tools don't replace sourcing: a fact is published only with a named source and the date it was read, and anything we can't source is left out or labeled as unconfirmed.
