Hyped sneakers on Nike's SNKRS app don't go to whoever taps fastest. Most big launches use a random Draw, and some pairs are offered by invitation through Exclusive Access. Here's how each system works, using Nike's own help and SNKRS pages (read Oct 17, 2026), plus the launches coming up this week.

The four SNKRS launch types

TypeHow it works (Nike)Does speed matter?
DrawRandom selection. Winners are picked after the entry window closes, then notified if they "GOT 'EM."No. Enter any time before the countdown ends.
Line"Like standing in line at your favorite store, the earlier you participate, the more likely you are to find your size."Yes. Be early.
Exclusive AccessAn invite-only launch outside regular launches. Nike says winner selection is randomized and the criteria "constantly" change, including things like past losses.Act fast once invited; it is time-limited and doesn't hold your size.
Exclusive DrawAlso invite-only and random, but everyone invited gets the same time to enter. Selection starts after the draw ends. No, within the window.

How to enter a SNKRS Draw, step by step

From Nike's help article "How Can I Join a SNKRS Draw?":

  1. Be a Nike Member and install the SNKRS app. Turn on notifications; Nike sends a push when a Draw opens.
  2. Upcoming Draws appear in the app's Upcoming feed. On a computer, sign in to your Nike Member profile first.
  3. Each Draw is open for a limited time. The product page shows a countdown clock.
  4. Choose your shoe and size. Your saved payment must be current, because Nike pre-authorizes it. You're only charged if selected.
  5. When the clock hits zero, Nike emails purchase info to winners within 24 hours, and also tells you if you weren't selected.

Rules people miss

  • One entry per Draw. If several Draws are open, you can enter each one once.
  • You can't change your size after you submit. Pick carefully.
  • Entering means agreeing to buy if you're picked. You can return the pair later under Nike's return rules.
  • Draw orders of $50 or more get free shipping and free returns (Nike help FAQ).
  • Payment: Nike lists all major credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay in the SNKRS app.

Why bots and extra accounts backfire

Nike's "Inside SNKRS: Fairness" page is unusually blunt:

  • Depending on the launch, bot attacks can be about 10% to 50% of all entries, and Nike says it stops as many as 12 billion bot calls a month globally. Nike says it removes the majority of bots and reviews launches in real time and afterwards.
  • Multiple accounts "could reduce the likelihood of obtaining Exclusive Access," and new "burner" accounts may result in blocked launch access. Nike's advice: use one account on one device.
  • No combination of actions guarantees Exclusive Access. Nike says "there is always an element of luck."

Nike's US Terms of Sale (revised October 2026) back that up. Nike says it may cancel orders or block accounts when an order is "placed with automated ordering software or technology," when there is evidence of buying for resale, when orders exceed purchase limits, or when an account shows an "excessive volume" of cancellations or returns. Nike also says purchase for resale is "strictly prohibited."

Legit tips that actually help

  • Keep one Nike account with your real name, current card and correct shipping address.
  • Set your size in your profile and double-check it before every entry.
  • Turn on SNKRS push notifications so you see Draws and Exclusive Access offers quickly.
  • For Draws, there's no prize for entering first; just enter before the countdown ends.
  • Only enter for pairs you really want at retail. Winning means you've agreed to buy.
  • Most processing starts fast: Nike says you can cancel before an order begins processing, typically within about 30 minutes, but some orders process immediately.
  • Many big pairs also release at other Jordan Brand and Nike retailers. Their raffles have their own rules; read each one.

FAQ

  • Does entering a SNKRS Draw early help? No. A Draw is random selection after the window closes. Only "Line" launches reward being early.
  • Will I be charged if I lose? No. Nike pre-authorizes your payment and only charges you if you're selected.
  • How do I know if I won? Nike emails purchase info to winners within 24 hours of the countdown ending, and tells you if you weren't selected.
  • Can I enter twice with two accounts? Don't. Nike says multiple accounts can lower Exclusive Access chances and burner accounts may be blocked, and its Terms of Sale let it cancel orders and close accounts.
